What makes you different?

(0:00:02) Intro:

Welcome to the Behind The Billboard podcast. Here’s your host, Kris Lindahl.

(0:00:06) KL:

What does your community look like? Hey, it’s Kris! Over the years, I’ve been so fortunate to have mentors and coaches that helped and supported me. But also shared the same values thad I had. So I just wanted to share a few things over that I’ve learned the years about the community and the people that you spend your time with.

First off, talent is not enough. We all know people that have do much talent and ability and skill and we’re always saying, “That person has so much talent or potential!”

But they don’t ever do anything with it. And I’m a firm believer that a big part of it is because they’re not in the right community. They don’t have the right people around them. When you’re in the right environment, you’re in that super positive, super successful environment, things just start to happen. You feel better. It’s intoxicating to be a part of. It reminds me a lot of the amazing humans beings that we have at our organization. One of my favorite quotes of all time is, “The strength of the pack is the wolf. The strength of the wolf is the pack.”

I think so much about that and I look at our organization and I look at other successful organizations around the country and I even look at successful sports organizations I’ve noticed it’s not the biggest talent that wins championships, it’s the best locker room.

It’s when people are aligned together and thy har the same core values and the same purpose. What I want to share with you today is that if you’re not in the environment, you need to audit your circle. It’s been said so often the you are the sum of the five people, or ten people depending on the expert… I truly believe that the people that I surround myself with are the result of who I am. I’ve been so fortunate so for those of you that have made an impact in my life I just want to say thank you so much. If you’re not in the right environment and you don’t have the right community, its time to suit your circle. Sometimes that might be close friends, family, coworkers… Maybe you’ve been in an environment for a long time and you just don’t realize the its stagnate, you’re’ stagnate. But we also have that fear… the fear we’re too scared to make a change. We got those habits and those rituals that we don’t want to make a change.

I can tell you right now the biggest break throughs that you’re going to have in your life are going to be when you get in that right community where you have high-performers that are surrounding you.

So I challenge today is that day to audit your circle. Go do it!
